Reformer 101

Reformer 101 is the required entry pathway for students who are new to Reformer Pilates and preparing to join group Reformer classes. Rather than a one-time intro, Reformer 101 is a foundational learning process designed to help students safely build confidence, body awareness, and familiarity with the equipment.

Students will attend both a 101A and 101B class, where they’ll learn foundational Reformer movement patterns and equipment setup including:

• Footwork

• Supine arms

• Bridging

• Straps

• Long Box work

• Short Box work

• Beginner transitions and machine setup

• Reformer safety, alignment, and studio flow

Our studio’s Reformer classes are uniquely Reformer-focused, with class time spent fully on the equipment rather than rotating between multiple apparatus stations. Because of this, understanding the machine, transitions, spring changes, pacing, and movement foundations is essential for both safety and class flow.

Some students may feel ready for group classes after completing 101A and 101B once, while others may benefit from repeating classes for additional practice and confidence. Progression into group Reformer classes is based on instructor discretion and student readiness, not simply attendance.

Students will be “checked off” by an instructor once they demonstrate the foundational understanding, control, pacing, and equipment familiarity needed for a safe and successful group class experience.

Please note:

• Reformer 101 classes are priced the same as regular Reformer classes and may be used with Reformer drop-ins, packs, or memberships.

• Completion timelines vary by student and are individualized to support safety, confidence, and long-term success in group classes.
